Artesia Moves-Up on All-Time Championship List

Last year's New Mexico state football championship has moved Artesia into a three-way tie for the third most titles in America.

Artesia captured its 27th title in 2010 to move into a tie for third-place with Lawrence (Kansas) and Omaha Creighton Prep (Nebraska).

Meanwhile, after back-to-back South Dakota state titles in 2009 and 2010, Washington has widen its lead on the all-time list of high school football championships in America. The Warriors, who won their first title in 1905, now own 37 state titles, which is five more than runner-up Little Rock Central in Arkansas.

One other school on the all-time list added to their trophy case in 2010. Everett (Massachusetts) won its 26th title, although Massachusetts doesn't crown an overall state champ.
